4 April Training Day Birds

Birds are in extremely short supply this year.  We'll have some (exact quantities unknown at this time) pigeons and quail available.  Cost will be $5 each.  Please post your orders.

Thanks.

Jay,

I would like 1 pigeon so I can work with it on a shackle for steadiness work with Finn. Also, you mentioned that there are no ducks available and your not sure about the water situation. I thought I might throw out there that I have some frozen ducks from the season that I would like to bring to use for duck search related stuff if we can secure the duck search pond. I would be happy to let others use my frozen ducks as well. Let me know if we can get to some water as soon as possible. Thanks, Jack

I'm not sure what birds to order. To be honest, I have done very little gun dog training with Gunny since last year. Due to taking care of my mom and some other issues, I was only able to do some obedience with him. He has not been force fetched, have not not had much bird exposure other than the pigeons in the back yard, and we only got to go hunting once this year. I have started working with him again on the beginnings of force fetch, and he is doing well with holding and walking with dummies, etc. So all that to say, I don't quite know what to do Saturday for training. Any advice or suggestions? Embarrassed

Jay,

Posted on the facebook page that we can use the duck search water.

Sharon,

Jay also posted that birds are in short supply for this training day.  He has 15 pigeons and 15 quial.  It looks like there will be 2 or 3 each.  I would ask for pigeons so maybe Gunny won't catch them.

Hello gentlemen,

I cannot seem to find the location and start time for Saturday. Please point me to the spot for that information. Thank you and I am appreciative of a group like this to help a man and his dog.

Tatton,

It will be good to have you. What breed are you running? How old?

Jack,

I have a 5 month old Wirehaired Pointing Griffon female.  She has been exposed just a little to birds and gunfire.  Looking forward to getting her out and exposing her to more.

See you Tomorrow.

Tatton,  try this and see if it takes you to the map.
